| On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the 153 employees who
serve Rio Vista Independent School District, I welcome you
to an exciting new school year. Whether you are returning to RVISD, or new to our
district, you are joining a family who prides itself on excellence in
academics, athletics, fine arts and character. We are always striving for
improvement. It is through determination and hard work of students,
staff, parents, and the community working together
that we will continue our improvements.
Our
school has established a
reputation for leading in innovation and excellence. Rio Vista ISD sets
the pace in education with a commitment to quality and a quest for
excellence. We believe that a child's school years are an important
first step toward a successful
career and/or higher education. We are committed to providing the
solid educational basis that is essential to our students' future success.
We are also committed to community service with staff and teachers
contributing time, money, and materials to Meals On Wheels, Thanksgiving
Baskets, Christmas Angels, United Way, scholarships, and other voluntary
work and contributions.
This year we have
approximately 900 students. We have adopted high standards in student
and staff conduct, in academics and in extra -curricular activities. We
expect to continue to work hard and improve all these areas to reach the
exemplary level through a concerted effort by staff, students, parents,
and the community. The many challenges each of us face must be met with
positive attitudes. Together, we overcome,
fortitudine vincimus, “By
endurance we conquer.”
The race is won one step at a time. Vince Lombardi, Hall of
Fame football coach, said, "Inches make the champion." It is with great
anticipation and excitement that I look forward in meeting those
challenges with you.
Thank you
for your part in educating our future, and thank you for sharing the
education of your child
with us at Rio Vista ISD.Sincerely,
Dr. Rock McNulty |
