Child Nutrition Home

Welcome to the Rio Vista Child Nutrition Department!

RVISD works hard to provide your children the most nutritious and delicious meal options possible while following guidelines  of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP).

Because of the COVID-19 Pandemic, all students in Texas are receiving free breakfast and lunch the entire 2021-22 school year. However, in order for RVISD to remain eligible for other benefits listed below,  Texas Education Agency (TEA) is requesting that districts receiving federal funds have all families to complete the NSLP (National School Lunch Program) form (one per family).

  • Title I Federal Funding that benefits ALL RVISD students
  • E-Rate Discount Calculation
  • Rural district discounts are made available that make technology affordable
  • Reduced cost on ACT/SAT
  • Financial Aid
  • Free/Reduced Meal 30 day carryover benefits that extend into the 2022-23 school year for qualified students
  • P-EBT (additional money to qualified families)
  • Accountability
  • Grant Eligibility
  • Some Institutions of higher learning waive or reduce application fees

 Free and Reduced Application

All families are encouraged to fill out an application online, or on paper. Rest assured that your information is kept confidential.

We realize that children sometimes forget to take their lunch money to school or sometimes misplace it. Please take advantage of our new online pay system , My School Bucks, for peace of mind that your children will always have money on their accounts. You can also view their daily transactions to see where your money is going. You will need your STUDENT ID # that is located on their report card to open your account.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our Food Service Director, Sherry Cochran, at 817-760-0766 ext. 4260 or email her at scochran@rvisd.net.
