Mr. Cox began his second term as Director of Bands for Rio Vista ISD with the 2022-2023 school year. He was previously director from 2000-2010. In that time the Eagle Pride earned several Division I ratings at both Marching and Concert & Sight Reading. In 2009, the Eagle Pride placed 12^th in the UIL AA State Marching Contest held in the Alamodome in San Antonio. The concert band also placed in the state round of the TMEA Honor Band competition.

In between his positions at RVISD, Mr. Cox was the first director of the Spartan Regiment of Centennial High School in Burleson; earned his Master’s Degree; and taught at Hillsboro ISD and Mabank ISD. With his return, he hopes to help return the Eagle Pride back to the award winning traditions of its past.
